Desktop Alert has a DevConnect test engineer opening. It is a contractor position. The person will join a team of several other engineers to perform interoperability testing with third party products and applications using telephony API’s and standard protocol interfaces such as SIP, H.323, and SNMP. The engineer will be responsible for interacting with technical personnel in third-party companies, develop test plans, set up test configurations, perform testing, and troubleshoot problems. After testing is complete, the engineer writes application notes to document how the solution is configured in the lab environment.

Product to be tested include PBX, IP Phones, Voice Portal, reporting system, recording system, gateway, VXML application, CDR application, SBC, performance management system, etc. You will constantly have fun and excitement because you will work with new products and learn new things all the time.

Required Skills:
• Five years of hands-on or development experience with enterprise communication systems such as PBX, SIP proxy, voice portal, messaging, dialer, contact center products, CTI applications, and IP phones. Experience with Avaya products will be a big plus.
• In depth knowledge of VoIP or TDM protocols such as SIP, H.323, ISDN
• Expertise in data networking, Windows server, and Linux.
• Ability to multi-task
• Good oral and written communication skills
